Do you take insurance?

I'm self-pay only, which means I don't bill insurance directly. I do provide a superbill on request that you can submit to your insurance company for possible out-of-network reimbursement. Private pay also keeps your care confidential and doesn't require a diagnosis on file with an insurer.

Do I have to be in New York?

Yes. I'm licensed in New York, so I can work with you if you're located in New York State at the time of session. I see clients in person in Manhattan and by telehealth anywhere in the state.

What actually happens in the first session?

Safety and trust within the therapeutic relationship is a prerequisite to any other work we do together. Without it, the spectrum of what we can work through is limited. We will spend at least the first session building rapport and sharing your story. We start with your goals. I typically work in a twelve week format where we actively work on those goals each session rather than only talking around them. You won't be asked to perform or produce insight you don't have yet.

I've already done years of therapy. How is this different?

The difference is the emphasis on change rather than understanding. Most people I work with already know why. My work focuses on honesty, accountability, and structure so that the insight you already have turns into something different in your actual life.

Do you work with teens?

Accepted Answer

Yes, I work with teens ages 13 to 17 with parent or guardian involvement. If you're a parent reaching out, let me know in your message and we'll talk through what that looks like.

Question 6

Do you offer psychedelic therapy?

Accepted Answer

No. I hold a within-degree certificate in psychedelic therapy from Columbia, and I can offer trained integration support and allyship, but I don't provide psychedelic therapy at this time.

What if I'm not sure I'm ready?

That's a good reason to book the free consultation. Fifteen minutes is enough to get a feel for whether this is the right fit, and there's no obligation on either side.
